Bachmann unveils new models in N, OO, and OO9 scale ranges

Bachmann Europe Plc has unveiled new products in N, OO and OO9 scale for each of its model railway ranges that will be released over the coming months.

Bachmann Branchline OO scale range

The Bachmann Branchline OO scale range has two new BR Standard 9F models that incorporate a Plux22 DCC interface and a pre-fitted speaker and depicts the version fitted with Westinghouse air pumps that was used on iron ore trains from Tyne Dock to Consett.

Two variants are available, in typical, heavily weathered condition, and SOUND FITTED models are also available.

The existing CEP Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) has new bodyshells portraying the units when they were refurbished, notably fitting of hopper window ventilators and relocating the brake compartments from the two driving vehicles to a single trailer vehicle.

The first release depicts Class 411/9 3-CEP No. 1199 in South West Trains livery, which is joined by a Class 422/7 4-TEP in blue and grey livery formed of three refurbished CEP vehicles and an un-refurbished buffet vehicle from a BEP unit.

Both models require a single DCC decoder for use on DCC systems or can be purchased in SOUND FITTED format with a decoder pre-installed.

Class 158 multiple units are available in the liveries of South West Trains, Transport for Wales, Northern, and Central Trains.

New Class 37s have BR's Railfreight Red Stripe livery and ‘Radio Highland' in BR Blue Large Logo livery, with each available in standard, SOUND FITTED and SOUND FITTED DELUXE format.

In the autumn there will be new releases of the BR Mk.1 Suburban coaches in BR Crimson, BR Maroon and BR Blue liveries.

Graham Farish range

Four new train sets covering passenger and freight operations in both the steam and diesel era, with two, the Thanet Flyer and Moving Mountains, also available with an optional SOUND FITTED variant.

The SOUND FITTED sets include a locomotive fitted with a Zimo sound decoder and an analogue controller.

Six LMS ‘Black 5' models will be available including preserved examples Nos. 5000 and 45407 The Lancashire Fusilier.

Also available are five new Class 90s, with or without SOUND FITTED, SOUND FITTED versions of Class 158 DMUs in Central Trains, GWR, and Northern liveries, and SOUND FITTED versions of the Class 14 diesel.

N scale rolling stock

New releases are dominated by five versions of Thompson coaches, including a Full Brake for the first time, available in LNER Teak Effect, BR Crimson & Cream and BR Maroon liveries.

Bachmann Narrow Gauge OO9 scale range

Two new wagons join the Dinorwic slate wagons modelled as both flatbed wagons and with sides. Both types are available in packs of three in either grey or red colour schemes, and the wagons with sides also include dressed slate loads.

Bachmann Scenecraft

This has a Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway theme, with the Shillingstone Goods Shed available in N and OO Scale in two colour scheme options.

Burnham-On-Sea station with its iconic train shed is available in OO scale.

New OO scale lineside structures include a platform-mounted signal box, a GCR lamp hut and a shunter's hut, all available in two colour schemes.

A new range of low-relief rear of terraces has left or right-hand doors and four versions, as well as a low-relief alleyway to use with them.

Contemporary buildings include a low-relief raised office with blue or green cladding and a fire station with an exercise tower.

EFE Rail

In OO scale, four-coach packs of London & South Western Railway (LSWR) cross-country coaches in LSWR Salmon & Brown and SR Maunsell Green Liveries.

Six LSWR covered vans are available for models of Diagram 1406, 1408 and 1410 vans.

There are also Newton Chambers car carriers and a new version of a Class 143 DMU in GWR Green livery.

EFE Rail's s first N scale steam locomotive is the War Department Austerity saddle tank which as LNER Class J94 and in industrial use allowed for many colourful and often unique liveries. They have a coreless motor, six-pin DCC Decoder and NEM coupling pockets, with six models in the initial release.
